Out of all the “roleplay” videos we became known for where Ray and Zach filmed separately, this is my pick for the best. I tried to make everything as smooth as possible, while keeping the tension that makes these negotiations so dang watchable in the first place.

We’ve done several of these “red flag” videos since I’ve been with CarEdge, and this is definitely the apotheosis of the concept. Combines the back-and-forth engagement of a role-play with the info of an educational video.
Emailing 100 FORD DEALERS to Get the PRICE of the SAME CAR
Year: 2024
Inspired by video of YouTubers emailing 100 producers about their music tracks, this was a pretty novel idea for automotive YouTube (especially in the current auto market). The results were super interesting and thorough, which made the narrative fall into place seamlessly.

My favorite of all of the many “role-play” videos I edited at CarEdge. Ray and Zach being in the same space (instead of filming over Zoom) makes the conversation feel that much more real and engaging. Led to some tense moments that were a blast to edit!
Toyota Dealers are SCREWED
Year: 2023
In 2023, we went through a phase of going to various dealerships and exposing absurd pricing right on the lots. Folks loved seeing Ray and Zach out of the office for once, and I enjoyed the change of pace this format brought to my editing flow.
